Role Overview & Responsibilities

As a UPS Pallet Jack Operator, you operate walkie-rider electric pallet movers and stand-up pallet trucks across the sort floor and dock areas of our fulfillment center, transporting shrink-wrapped freight pallets between sort output staging, dock door positions, and trailer loading lanes at a sustained pace that keeps the outbound dock ahead of the departure schedule throughout every shift.

• Walkie-Rider & Stand-Up Operation: Operate Crown or Raymond brand walkie-rider electric pallet movers and stand-up counterbalance pallet trucks across the active warehouse floor — navigating aisle intersections, dock door aprons, and trailer threshold ramps safely at operating speeds between 5 and 8 MPH with full pedestrian awareness enforced at every crosswalk zone.
• Pallet Load Verification: Visually inspect every pallet load before moving it — confirming shrink-wrap integrity, pallet board condition, and load stability — refusing to transport any pallet with exposed or unstable freight until it has been re-wrapped and re-inspected to UPS stability standards.
• OSHA Daily Pre-Shift Inspection: Complete the UPS OSHA-required electric pallet mover pre-shift checklist at the start of every shift — verifying battery charge level, hydraulic function, horn operation, forks condition, and speed-limiter performance — tagging and removing any unit with a deficiency before the shift begins and reporting the finding to the maintenance supervisor for same-day repair scheduling.
