Role Overview & Responsibilities
As a UPS Warehouse Safety Coordinator, you are the on-floor safety authority during your assigned shift, conducting real-time behavioral audits, managing injury response protocols, and leading the safety engagement programs that protect every associate inside our package center.
- Behavioral Safety Auditing: Patrol the active sort floor during peak throughput windows, observing associate lifting techniques, equipment operation behaviors, and walkway compliance, providing immediate coaching corrections and documenting all observations in UPS's safety tracking system.
- Injury Response Management: Respond immediately to all reported injuries or near-miss incidents, administering first-aid where certified, completing UPS injury documentation within required timeframes, and conducting root-cause analysis interviews with the injured associate and witnesses.
- Safety Training Facilitation: Lead mandatory pre-shift safety stretching and awareness meetings, facilitate monthly OSHA-required training topics, and coordinate quarterly safety committee meetings with hourly associate representatives and operations management.
