Role Overview & Responsibilities

As a UPS Driver Helper, you ride alongside an assigned UPS package car driver on their daily route, running packages from the truck to customer doorsteps at high speed to allow the driver to complete significantly more stops per hour than solo operation permits — no license required, no driving involved, just focused physical hustle.

• Package Running: Grab assigned packages from the package car, sprint to the customer's designated delivery location — door, porch, mailroom, or side entrance — place the parcel correctly, and return immediately to the moving vehicle, maintaining the rapid rhythm that defines a high-performance driver-helper team.
• DIAD Assistance: Assist the driver with package scanning and digital signature capture at stops where the delivery volume is high enough to require two sets of hands operating simultaneously to maintain the route's time schedule.
• Safe Entry & Exit: Follow UPS-trained safe exit and entry procedures every single time you enter or exit the moving vehicle, using the three-point contact method and maintaining constant awareness of traffic, pedestrians, and road conditions at each stop.
