Role Overview & Responsibilities

As a UPS Warehouse Specialist, you operate as the most versatile and deployable associate on the sort floor inside our fulfillment center — certified and experienced across all primary sort functions and deployed by the shift supervisor into whichever operational area requires the most skilled coverage at any given point during the active sort window.

• Cross-Functional Deployment: Execute any sort floor assignment — inbound trailer unloading, main belt sorting, outbound trailer loading, small sort module, air package handling, or equipment operation — at a proficiency level that meets or exceeds the production standard for each function, without requiring additional instruction or oversight regardless of which function you are assigned to cover.
• Peak Coverage Leadership: During volume surge events that require rapid labor redeployment, step into the highest-deficit functional area and immediately restore production rate — serving as the operational anchor that stabilizes a lagging belt section while the supervisor secures additional headcount to sustain the correction.
• New Associate Method Coaching: Demonstrate correct UPS work methods to new associates in adjacent sort positions during active belt operations — providing brief, specific, non-disruptive on-the-fly coaching corrections that prevent injury and accuracy errors without requiring a formal training stop that would disrupt the sort window throughput targets.
